Vicky O’Neon live looping took centre stage in October at the UK Drum Show, where Vicky delivered a highly praised live looping masterclass to a packed audience of musicians, producers and performers.

With around 7,000 visitors attending across the weekend, the session — hosted in Mike Dolbear’s room — focused on hybrid drum and percussion setups, creative performance workflows and the practical realities of building a distinctive live looping rig.

Vicky O’Neon live looping: hybrid drums and performance workflow

This workshop-style session offered a deep dive into Vicky O’Neon live looping techniques, combining electronic and acoustic elements into a fluid, performance-led setup. Attendees were guided through:

  • Hybrid drum and percussion configurations
  • Live looping signal flow and creative layering
  • Unique gear choices and performance control
  • Translating studio ideas into compelling live shows

Throughout the weekend, feedback from fellow musicians and attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many described Vicky’s rig as one of the most unique and exciting setups at the entire show, with particular praise for its musicality, flexibility and visual impact.

Inspiring performers through live looping education

Beyond the technical detail, the masterclass focused on creative confidence — encouraging musicians to develop setups that reflect their own artistic identity rather than following rigid templates.

Vicky O’Neon’s approach to live looping emphasised experimentation, adaptability and audience connection, making the session equally valuable for emerging artists and experienced performers alike.

More information about the masterclass programme can be found on the official UK Drum Show masterclasses page.

Moments from the session — including performance clips, rig walk-throughs and behind-the-scenes footage — were later shared across social media, extending the reach of the workshop well beyond the event itself.
